PrintQuest Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS) & Automated Palmprint Identification Systems (APIS)

PrintQuest stand-alone desktop PC AFIS/APIS Systems are now available and affordable while offering the same powerful tools as found on state/federal AFIS and in some cases, with higher accuracy.

In PrintQuest®, it is not necessary to place minutiae points on any print. You can, however, edit those minutiae found to improve the accuracy of the scan and search by working with the friction ridge skeleton displayed.

PrintQuest® features High Accuracy Auto-Extraction of centers, deltas, patterns, and minutiae points for unsurpassed user time savings on entry of prints. Auto-extraction allows PrintQuest® to be useful by both the novice and expert alike. Ten Print Card entry of fingers is simple and only requires user verification of centers, deltas, and patterns. The user is not required to edit minutiae points, but may do so if warranted. For Palm Card entry, the user need only scan the palm images into the system as PrintQuest® does the rest. Additionally, there is no need for splitting the palm into segments. The user can edit features, but PrintQuest® saves users a lot of time because few corrections are required. Poor rolled prints can be replaced with slap prints. Both NCIC and HENRY classifications are included. Both are assigned automatically and can be edited by the user.

An image showing PrintQuest skeletal extraction is shown below. This powerful auto-extraction tool allows the user to see all minutia points found by the software, check them for accuracy, and edit or add points as the user sees fit. PrintQuest® does not require the use of scaled latents. The software has a built in “Independent Scaling Tool” that offers the ability to work with latents of any (even unknown) scale without influence on accuracy of matching results. If the scale is known, the user sets it. If the scale is unknown, the Independent Scaling Tool is used.

Types of Searches:

  • Ten print card to Ten print card
  • Ten Print to Latent
  • Latent to latent
  • Latent to Ten print card
  • Reverse Search
  • Palm Card to Palm Card
  • Palm Card to Latent Palm
  • Latent Palm to Latent Palm
  • Latent Palm to Palm Card

These searches allow the investigator to perform “classic” crime-to-suspect identification, as well as linking crimes via latents and detecting aliases via multiple name-same prints matches. In addition, the database can be searched by biometric and biographic data and via all alphanumeric fields.
